Monday Update with Slime-san coming to Japan, Dragon Quest mobile ports, ARMS data-mining, plus more news!
● Another late update thanks to Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete – I’m 55 hours in now and almost at the end! My 3DS game of the year!
● Headup Games will be bringing the highly acclaimed retro platformer Slime-san to the Japanese Switch eShop in a few weeks time!
● Nintendo Switch was the best selling console for July in Japan with 294,311 units sold. Nintendo 3DS was second with 227,349. PlayStation 4 was in third place.
● Dragon Quest and Dragon Quest II which release on the Japanese 3DS eShop this Thursday, and Dragon Quest III scheduled for later this month will all be the mobile versions of the game.
● An ARMS data-mining has uncovered nine new fighters (Chain, Coil, Plant, Robo, Scroll, Sumo, Surprise, Sweet and Twintale). Obviously their inclusion in unconfirmed.
● Super Bomberman R is now on sale on the Japanese Switch eShop priced at ¥3,764 (from ¥5,378) until 20 August 2017.
● Fire Emblem Heroes has updated to Version 1.6.0 requiring 64.3 MB and coming with plenty of new features (detailed here).
● The Shinobi Refle: Senran Kagura official website has opened up here along with the opening animation. Still no release date.
● COMG! sales for the past week saw Dragon Quest XI: Sugisarishi Toki o Motomete with 669 (PS4 version is just 229), Dai Gyakuten Saiban 2: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke no Kakugo with 70 and Splatoon 2 dropping to 39.
● Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia President Atsushi Morita is also unable to buy himself a Nintendo Switch and also says that Nintendo Switch is a ‘really good thing’ for the game industry.
