Weekend Update with Team Rock victorious, SNES trademarks, Splatoon 2 posters plus more tidbits!
● The Splatoon 2 Splatfest World Premiere is now over with Team Rock victorious over Team Pop!
● Nintendo Co., Ltd. have applied for trademarks for the words ‘SUPER NINTENDO ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM’, ‘SNES’ and ‘SFC’ for the purpose of home video game machines.
● The next issue of Weekly Famitsu will also include a B3 Splatoon 2 poster plus Splatoon illustrations from a number of manga artists and a developer interview.
● Their will also be a free Splatoon 2 poster (pictured here) in the next issue of CoroCoro (available 15 August). Pictures of this month’s issue’s free Splatoon 2 game card case (which holds four Switch and two 3DS cartridges) here,

● The Friendly Run Event has returned to Super Mario Run until 27 July which allows players to win Rally Tickets irregardless over whether they win.
● Denpa Ningen no RPG FREE! will soon celebrate its 3rd anniversary with 7 big events from 15 July including gifts, stages, log-in bonuses and Denpa Men.
● Next week sees the ONE PIECE 20th Game Festival sale with both One Piece Super Grand Battle! X and One Piece Dai Kaizoku Colosseum on sale. The full list of games on sale here.
● I answered a Japanese My Nintendo survey (in English!) for 30 Platinum Points earlier which asked (amongst many other games) whether I liked Star Fox and Metroid (no F-Zero).
● Tetris is voted the best Puzzle game of all time by the readers of Weekly Famitsu beating Puyo Puyo, Puzzle & Dragons, Panel de Pon and others. The full list here.
● This week’s Famitsu Most Wanted is again led by Dragon Quest XI but also with new entries for Metroid Samus Returns and Fire Emblem Switch! Check out the list here.
● Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares closed the week of trading at 35,880 so slightly down from last wek.
● Pokémon the Movie 2018 was confirmed at the end of the latest movie. Thanks to Serebii for that tidbit!
● Codename『3』 (the mystery new Mechanic Arms game) has now been rescheduled for October 2017.
