Weekend Update with Heiankyo Alien coming to Famicom, ARMS Japan Grand Prix announced plus more news!

● Sorry again for the late update but another day at the beach! Picture thanks to Kinopio-kun! The lead story is Columbus Circle and Digifloyd are bringing Heiankyo Alien (平安京エイリアン) to the Family Computer this August. Heiankyo Alien is a maze game that even preceded Pac-Man and that has seen versions on PC, Arcade, Game Boy and Super Famicom (not Famicom however as it’s an all new version!)

● The final of the ARMS Online Public Sparring tournament aired today on YouTube with an ARMS JAPAN GRAND PRIX 2017 announced for this Fall with district qualifiers to be held in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka. The next free update featuring Max Brass as a playable character comes in mid-July.

PHOTON³ will receive a bug fixing patch from developers Smile Axe in the near future. Review coming soon btw! Check out my mini review for Dead House Saisei (Vaccine) here.

● The latest Jake Hunter game Tantei Jinguji Saburo: Ghost of the Dusk which is available on Japanese 3DS’s from 31 August has been confirmed for North American localisation as Jake Hunter Detective Story: Ghost of the Dusk.

Cave Story + (which releases in Japan later this year) will soon see an update that allows you to play with the game’s original graphics.

Pokémon GO Trainers Level 5 and above can now access Raid Battles. Apptopia also report that the game has earned $1.2 billion in revenue, has been downloaded 752 million times with 60 million monthly players in June 2017 alone.

● Nick Wozniak of Yacht Club Games spoke with App Trigger (annoying auto-playing video ad alert) who told them: “I think one of the things we want to work on in the far future is definitely like a Shovel Knight 64, a 3D platformer. We would all love that. We all love Mario 64 to pieces and would just love to be able to jump into that.”

● And Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares closed trading for the week at 37,680 and saw a little drop after reaching an all-new record (since early October 2008) on Tuesday.
