● Nintendo Classic Mini Super Famicom was finally announced for Japan! We’ll refer to it as Super Famicom Mini from now-on. It comes with 21 games (adding a Goemon, Fire Emblem, Panel de Son and Super Formation Soccer, exchanging a Street Fighter title and losing an Earthbound amongst others!). It releases on 5 October priced at ¥8,618 ($77). Check out the full list of games plus pictures here. And for those interested about reservations – many Japanese retailers do not even know at time of posting.
● Nintendo filed for a trademark application for ‘スプラ’ (Supura) which is the first part of the word Splatoon and a term commonly used in Japan. Interesting the application includes for ‘portable electronic game machine’ as one of several purposes listed. Thanks to @PushDustIn for his help.

● Hamster should be releasing ACA NEOGEO Metal Slug 2 on the Nintendo Switch eShop next week (6 July) where it will be priced at ¥82. This rounds off all the current announcements but more are expected very shortly!
● Today’s content update to Fire Emblem Heroes saw the Voting Gauntlet: The War of the Clerics and required a 15.6 MB in-game update. Tomorrow will see a Grand Hero Battle featuring Clarisse: Sniper in the Dark.
● This week’s Weekly Famitsu scores saw De Mambo for Nintendo Switch score 30/40 (7779) and Minna de Nanpure for Nintendo 3DS score 27/40 (7776).
● Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition was downloaded 60,000 times on the Japanese eShop from 12 – 28 May. Hopefully I’ll post the full digital numbers for May tomorrow!
● And Kotaku spoke with Masahiro Higuchi from Intelligent Systems who told them “I’d love to do a remake of Famicom Wars.”
