Nintendo 3DS news
● A Nintendo 3DS successor is being seriously considered according to President Tatsumi Kimishima, Drink With Cute Pets! Wan Nyan & Mini Mini Animals was announced for 6 April retail release with the Armed Blue Gunvolt OVA releasing on the eShop on 9 February plus there will be a Monster Hunter XX demo on 15 February.
Wii U news
● The Wii U hardware has officially ceased production and Shigeru Miyamoto’s Project Giant Robot has officially been cancelled.
Mobile news
● Fire Emblem Heroes released and soon rose to #3 on the JP App Store with Nintendo Co., Ltd. shares rising by 6.33%. Super Mario Run received an update adding an Easy Mode and a Gold Goombas event, Miitomo will be updated adding a Miifoto Log and Animal Crossing has been delayed until the next financial year (April or after).
Nintendo Switch news
● A quiet week for Nintendo Switch news although President Tatsumi Kimishima confirmed the console will be sold at a profit from day one, VR is being looked into and 100 titles are under development from 70 publishers. Splatoon 2 will also see voice chat, be compatible with existing amiibo and see the return of the Hero Mode and Splatfests.
Other news
● In other news: Masaya Nakamura who founded Namco in 1955 passed away at the age of 91, Nintendo Sale Co., Ltd. is the name of Nintendo’s new distribution company, Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer has sold 1.5 million worldwide and Unholy Night: The Darkness Hunter will release on Super Famicom on 30 March. Phew!
