● Tons of news so I’ll rush through it! Splatoon 2 will offer voice chat (and you won’t be able to talk to strangers!).
● Nintendo Switch apparently has 100 different titles in development from more than 70 publishers. An online subscription will be an annual ¥2-3,000. And VR is confirmed…”once they figure out how users can play for hours without problems.”
● There will be a Monster Hunter XX demo on the Japanese 3DS eShop on 15 February.
● Project Giant Robot has officially been scrapped: “we made this decision after considering our overall product and development strategy” (source)
● Super Mario Run received an update with an Easy Mode and a Gold Goombas event (detailed here).
● RPG Maker Fes Player has been downloaded 300,000 times with 1.5 million user-created games being downloaded.
● The Armed Blue Gunvolt anime (Azure Striker Gunvolt OVA) will be available on the eShop next week priced at ¥600. Check out the official website.
● Nintendo Classic Mini: Family Computer has sold 1.5 million worldwide (obviously including the NES Mini).
● Nintendo Sale Co., Ltd. is the name of the new distribution company which starts up on 3 April with approximately 180 employees.
● The Fire Emblem Heroes Battle Ballot has had over 1.2 million entries. Nintendo Life have the micro transaction prices (in $) detailed here.
