Namco founder passes, Dragon Ball Heroes TVCM, COMG! rankings, NCL third quarter earnings preview and more!
● Just a brief update: Masaya Nakamura who founded Namco in 1955 has passed away at the age of 91.

● COMG! rankings are low with Pokémon Sun Moon (28 pt), Yokai Watch 3: Sukiyaki (28 pt), Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World (23 pt) with nothing else noticeable. Preorders are better with: Monster Hunter XX (532 pt), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (199 pt), 1-2-Switch (68 pt), DQMJ3P (58 pt), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (29 pt) and Super Bomberman R (12 pt).
● Upcoming maintenance schedule sees online play, rankings etc affected on 3DS and Wii U on 31 January from around 09:00 – 13:00 JST and Nintendo eShops under maintenance on 8 February from around 03:00 – 06:00 JST.
● Finally, tomorrow sees the Nintendo Co., Ltd. third quarter earnings report with the Wall Street Journal reporting an analyst expectation of “a net profit of ¥34.2 billion ($297.1 million) for the October-December period up from a ¥29.1 billion profit from a year earlier.” And an expectation of ¥177.5 billion in revenue for the same period down from ¥221.5 billion from last year. WSJ also report expectations of increased Switch shipments, unremarkable Super Mario Run contributions, Pokémon Sun Moon worldwide sales (10 million+), weak yen and possible surprises (future smartphone titles and QOL).
