HUGE news day with Kirby × Box Boy!, Fire Emblem Direct plus new Famista, Kamen Rider, Nemuneko and Switch games plus tons more news!
● Just a quick update. Tons of news and so little time! The lead pic is from the Kirby Series amiibo that are compatible with Sayonara! Hako Boy! (as pictured here). Scanning the Qbby amiibo allows you to play in Game Boy mode. The game is available to pre-load now for ¥680 requiring 1,210 blocks and a demo is now available requiring 261 blocks and offers 30 plays. Pre-orders on Amazon will also receive a Qbby and Kirby wallpaper (pictured here).
● The Fire Emblem Direct has been confirmed for Japan too with the video feed here. At least the mobile title will be revealed with Fire Emblem Musou/Warriors likely.
● Pro Yakyuu Famista Climax was announced for Nintendo 3DS by Bandai Namco releasing on 20 April and finally introducing women’s leagues (and playable mascots!). Halls (!) are also running a competition to win one of 20 New Nintendo 3DS LL’s and pouches (pictured here) and one of 1,500 packets of Halls Mentho-lyptus sweets (promotion here).
● Kamen Rider Atsumete was announced for the Japanese 3DS shop next week by Kemco and Hit-Point as a bizarre “Abandon & Simulation Game” priced at ¥540. Check out the website here.
● Nemuneko Pazurudemoneteimasu was also announced by FuRyu for next week as a “Chill-out Puzzle Game” priced at ¥540.
● A couple of localisations were announced too with Cosen releasing Power Disc Slam on Nintendo 3DS and Teslapunk on Wii U. Both games will be priced at ¥1,000 each.
● Nussoft who recently released ACE OF SEAFOOD on Wii U are currently developing a Nintendo Switch title and will release it before the end of 2017.
● A trio of newly confirmed release dates: Mario Sports Superstars will release on 3DS on 30 March, Sangokushi ’13 with Power Up Kit will release on Switch on the same date and Minna de Wai Wai! Spelunker will release on Switch on 20 April.
● Pokémon GO will soon be updated to version 1.23.1 (iOS) and 0.53.1 (Android) updating Apple Watch to display Eggs obtained from PokéStops and changes distance tracking to better account for GPS drift and minor text fixes.
● Yokai Watch 3 (Sushi, Tempura and Sukiyaki) was/were updated to Ver.2.2 adding the S-rank and new mystery legends.
● Swapdoodle was also updated to Ver.1.1 with several problems being fixed “so that you can play games comfortably”!
● The Wall Street Journal are reporting that Japan Display Inc. are supplying 3 million Nintendo Switch screens initially with upwards of 10 million by year-end with that figure moving if deemed necessary (source).
