Super Mario Run comes to iPhone/iPad, Pokémon GO comes to Apple Watch and five new Japanese 3DS games announced

● Huge news as Mario is coming to mobile! Super Mario Run is coming to iPhone and iPad in December 2017 (expect an Android version in 2017). The game will be a free download and limited content playable with the full game purchasable with a one off payment (unspecified). Go to http://supermariorun.com/ to see screenshots and a gameplay video. NCL shares jumped 13.2% (to 27,955) after the announcement. An excellent Shigeru Miyamoto interview with Time here. There will also be a set of (free!) Super Mario stickers usable in iMessages for when iOS 10 launches later this month.

● In other mobile news: both Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Crossing) and Fire Emblem will be delayed from after Super Mario Run (December 2016) until the end of the fiscal year (late March 2017). The fifth mobile game from the DeNA partnership will launch in the next fiscal year.

● Niantic were also at the Apple Event where they announced Pokémon GO has achieved 500 million downloads and is coming to Apple Watch later in 2016 (it will work alongside the iPhone game). Nintendo also confirmed the Pokémon GO Plus accessory will release on 16 September priced at ¥3,780.

● Flyhigh Works have announced several new Japanese 3DS eShop titles with Urban Trial: Freestyle 2 coming in Spring 2017, Geki Yaba Runner Habanero coming in early 2017, Quest of Dungeons coming in Winter 2016 and Subara City coming in Autumn 2016. Go here for more info/artworks/screenshots.

● Bandai Namco have announced a free Heybot! game for the 3DS eShop. Heybot! Hebohebo! Heybot Tournament! (a puzzle game) should release on 14 September with the anime scheduled to start on 18 September.

● Two more The Legend of Zelda: 30th Anniversary concerts were announced for Japan with dates on 1 December in Osaka and 4 December in Tokyo. Go here for the official website.
