Nintendo’s stock market value above Sony’s and McDonald’s shares soar due to Pokémon craze

Nintendo Co. Ltd. shares are now higher than the entire Sony Corporation! They closed the day at 31,740 up another 14.25% from the last day of trading (Friday). Sony are at 30.30. And in related news Bloomberg report: “Investors are flocking to Pokémon-related stocks and McDonald’s Japan is one of those benefiting from the boom. The boom came at a time when McDonald’s business has already started recovering and there’s expectation that the Pokémon toy offering will further increase customer traffic to their shops"after shares jumped as much as 23% due to the Pokémon Happy Meals (pictured above and alongside Aikatsu here) that hit stores on 15 July.

● 5Pb are releasing a 3CD Etrian Odyssey V soundtrack (including FM versions) on 28 September priced at ¥3,780. The game releases 4 August.

● Junichi Masuda’s latest blog entry (here) has well over 2,000 comments asking when Pokémon GO will release in Japan (it’s still isn’t)!

● Pre-orders for Pokémon Sun Moon are now 243 combined on Comgnet (Sun slightly above the Moon!) up an impressive 39 from yesterday!

Puzzle & Dragons X will have collaborations with both Taiko no Tatsujin and Monster Hunter Stories. There will also be a six page feature in this week’s Famitsu magazine (probably no separate preview post this week unless other features games are announced).

Stickman Super Athletics is coming to the Japanese 3DS eShop shortly courtesy of Rainy Frog.

● TechCrunch are reporting that Pokémon GO is coming to Japan tomorrow and that all McDonald’s will be Poké Stops (source).
