Fairune 2 thoughts, NES Mini announced and NCL shares at the highest for 5 years

Fairune 2 released on the 3DS eShop yesterday priced at ¥800. As far as sequels go; it’s more of a Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels than a Super Mario USA in it being an expansion of familiar grounds as opposed to reinvention. That being said, the familiarity is both charming and endearing with beautiful pixel art and an awesome soundtrack. Only an hour in but I’ve now got the sword and just about seen all of the main map. In short: it’s great, just don’t expect an overhaul of the original or a 30 hour epic.

● The biggest news of the day doesn’t even involve Japan (yet!) as the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System was announced by NOA and NOE as an 11 November release of a HD Mini-NES with 30 games pre-installed. Hopefully a Mini-Famicom will be announced tomorrow.

Nintendo Co. Ltd. shares are remarkably up another 15.83% to 25,285 after a brief dip yesterday. Apparently they’re at the highest level since 21 February, 2011 and may rise even further as Pokémon GO dominates more countries.

Stickman Challenge! Ver.2.0 should now be available delivering ten extra mini-games completely free of charge.

● In Miitomo news: actor Daisuke Miyagawa and costume designer Kazuko Kurosawa both now have Official Accounts bringing the total to six.

● Despite the two Directs, Culdcept Revolt first week was down to 30,017 from 54,086. The previous Culdcept didn’t launch on the eShop although those sales should be far less than 24,000. The game also has an online battle tomorrow from 20:00 – 23:59 JST.

● Nintendo’s official LINE account celebrates the recent release of the Splatoon Playing Cards with a number of themed pics. We’re only weeks away from four million followers too!

● A Monster Hunter Stories special event on 10 August although only eighty people can enter. Full details (and a ton of cool merchandise) here.

● The Wall Street Journal have reported that DeNA (Nintendo’s mobile partner) have teamed up with Preferred Networks (an artificial intelligence company). Full details here.

● Cosen have confirmed that they are working on an update to the Japanese version of FreezeME that fixes the third level bug.

Pokémon GO Plus is rumoured for 29 July release although unconfirmed. The game still isn’t out in Japan although the rumours are Friday (any hour now!).

● Darkrai has been confirmed for Pokkén Tournament arcade version. Official footage here. Thanks to Serebii.

● A Japanese trailer for Robo Mouse which releases next week here.

● That’s all for now but a couple more posts planned for today including the latest Collectible Badge Center update plus several more Famitsu scans lined up over the next few days!
