Weekly News Update

● Excellent E3 showing by Nintendo for Wii U but little for 3DS other than the Pokémon and Smash Bros. we all knew about, a few Western localisations, a ton of indie eShop games and the steampunked strategy RPG Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. brought to you by Intelligent Systems in 2015.

● One of the indie game reveals was Gunman Clive 2 which the developer Beril revealed in a NeoGAF post will be hitting the Japanese eShop as Gunman Story 2.

● Perhaps the most awesome aspect of E3 was the unveiling of the amiibo figures that are Wii U in 2014 but 3DS in 2015. On top of that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS was dated for 13 September in Japan and three new challengers (Pac-Man, Palutena and Mii Fighter) were announced.

● Two new Square Enix announcements: one minor (Bravely Default -For the Sequel- Ultimate Hits on 7 August) and one major (Final Fantasy Explorers – a crystal chronicling/monster hunting action RPG although no release date at present).

● Amazing start for Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth with 186,398 copies sold and also the #2 seller on the eShop.

● Star Fish have announced they’re bringing the PSP dungeon crawler Elminage Ibun: Ame no Mihashira to 3DS on 28 August.

● Even more new game announcements with Bandai Namco releasing SF Dotabata Party!! to 3DS and Wii U which will be based upon the characters of Doraemon creator Fujiko F Fujio.

● More eShop announcements (and again no Virtual Console) with both Pick-a-Gem and the iOS million seller Gunma no Yabou coming soon.

● The final new game announcement isn’t confirmed but I did receive a scan for the sequel to the Sega JRPG Hero Bank which hopefully should be confirmed soon!

● The only review for the past week was for the disappointing The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon (3/10). I do aim to review Persona Q within the next twelve hours! And thanks everybody who follows this humble little tumblog!
