Weekly News Update

The Band of Thieves & 1000 Pokémon was announced as a free downloadable eShop title available for a limited time (5 June – 30 September) with the aim being to collect Pokémon via StreetPass and defeat the thieves. No localisation confirmed.

● Nintendo have joined forces with NTT DoCoMo to release a tethering app for several Android devices in Japan. Basically this enables you to connect your 3DS to your Android’s online connection. No announcement (yet) for iOS or for the West.

● Next week’s pitiful eShop selection will see just the sixth Petit Novell title Combat in May (¥200) and Maru Pass! Real Estate and Building Test FY2014 (¥2,800). For the second week running there will be no Virtual Console game released.

● The free downloadable games for the 3DS LL promotion for June were announced and will be a choice between Pokémon Art Academy, Pokémon X & Y, Animal Crossing: New Leaf (again) and Puzzle & Dragons Z.

Youkai Watch could hit a million retail copies sold in the next few days as again it tops the Famitsu charts which are dominated by 3DS games (18 out of the top 30). 3DS hardware is down to 40,068 for the week which is above all else.

● Corocoro readers can order an exclusive Alpha Version of Fossil Fighters: Infinite Gear although no (other) English site reporting it as they usually just wait for Siliconera to butcher a Famitsu article (Famitsu and Corocoro are rivals so no story).

● As well as the Super Smash Bros. (female villager announced as playable btw) conference at E3, NOA have also announced a conference to announce an all new 3DS game. Speculation aplenty over a new Metroid or a Majora’s Mask remake.

● Reviews for the week have included Noroi no Game Chi (7/10), Star ★ Series: Cute Witch (4/10), Star ★ Series: Magic Bubble (7/10), Star ★ Series: 3D Darts (5/10), Star ★ Series: 3D Soccer (4/10) and ARC STYLE: Soccer!! 2014 (5/10). A couple more reviews planned for this weekend then Ace Attorney 123: Wright Selection for next! And thanks for following!
